Try Iron-Tony's winning training methods to reach your best performance after 40 years old.
Transform your body and mind to feel at your peak in your middle-age years by following an expert's guidance.
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Iron-Tony, and I am 46 years old. I work as a trainer, coach, and teacher (Shifu) of Chinese martial arts, specifically Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Sanda.
The Middle Age Warrior Training is a method of training that I developed over the past six years. It all started when I decided to participate in a martial arts world tournament at the age of 40, after being retired from competitions and competitive training for almost 20 years. Initially, it was meant to be a fun activity as I entered middle age, but to my surprise, I ended up winning a gold medal for Canada. This victory motivated me to return to being an athlete.
Since then, I have been refining a training method that allows me to perform at my best while ensuring safety, despite my age. I make a point of participating in at least one high-performance event every year to test the effectiveness of my method, and I'm proud to say that I have consistently finished in the top three positions in all of them.
Moreover, I have successfully applied this method to many clients and students in Toronto and abroad, through remote guidance, with excellent results.
Now, I aim to assist other middle-aged men and women who are interested in adopting a healthier lifestyle and improving their physical and mental performance after 40. I want them to experience the same sense of satisfaction I feel when I look at myself at this age and realize that I am in better shape than when I was in my 20s. I call this method The Middle Age Warrior Training.
When I made the decision to create a plan for myself to become an athlete again in my 40s, the first three things that came to my mind were: 1. Avoiding injury while training, 2. Identifying the challenges I faced at this age compared to when I was younger, and 3. Finding ways to overcome these differences and perform at my best at this age, regardless of winning or losing. After considering the challenges of middle age, I noticed five key facts:
1. Muscle and bone density start to decline.
2. Fat accumulation tends to increase.
3. Range of motion (ROM) for certain movements decreases, elevating the risk of injury during training. This is particularly apparent and challenging for individuals with sedentary lifestyles (e.g., office workers, IT professionals, drivers).
4. Energy levels decrease, resulting in longer recovery times and persistent fatigue.
5. Coping with work stress, family issues, and societal or economic pressures further worsens the aforementioned challenges.
As a trainer and coach, I have observed that many exercise methods, such as gym memberships, jogging, or returning to a sport later in life, tend to focus solely on muscle gain and fat loss, neglecting the other factors mentioned above. Consequently, when injuries, fatigue, or stress occur, many individuals either give up or incur additional costs for services like physiotherapy, yoga, counselling, and life coaching, to stay on track, and ultimately, end up quitting due to financial constraints. My training method is designed to address all five challenges mentioned above in one comprehensive program.
My method combines:
Safe and effective physical training to improve strength, endurance and weight control.
Mobility and injury prevention (or rehabilitation) exercises to improve and maintain functional movements required for your routine and lifestyle.
Mindful practices and martial arts to help you cope with stress, fight anxiety and improve self-confidence.
You'll be able to work individually with me through dynamic full-body circuits that combine all key elements of fitness in one round instead of doing one exercise at a time. I will use hands-on mobility and flexibility exercises scientifically designed to improve your range of motion (ROM) and prevent injuries, and I will guide you through mindful exercises and martial arts practices that will help you to cope with stress, relieve anxiety symptoms and increase your levels of confidence.
For those who can't make it to my dojo, I also offer The Middle Age Warrior training online, in English or Portuguese. Click here to contact me about it.
Anyone between 40s and early 60s can benefit from The Middle Age Warrior Training.
My work with my clients is based on individual assessments and needs, so my personal training programs are tailored differently for each person and suitable for middle-aged people, regardless of gender or level of training.

Thank you for asking! It's fair enough that you would like to know my qualifications before you sign up for my program.
So here it goes: Besides over 25 years of experience teaching Chinese martial arts, over 12 years as a certified fitness trainer and my background as a coach and athlete over these years, I also have:
A physical education degree, which allows me to train you using scientific knowledge regarding movement, biology, physiology, anatomy, psychology of exercise, nutrition and assessment, planning, programming and training methodologies.
A diploma in physical rehabilitation, which allows me to ensure the use of proper injury prevention techniques during training or help you overcome injuries and the post-surgical phase if required.
Quite a collection of specializations, including functional range conditioning training (a scientific method designed to improve high-performance movement in sports and exercises), stress management and resilience (which gives me the knowledge to help cope with stress using mental exercises and mindful techniques, active age (understanding of the body changes after middle age), which allows me to prepare you for a healthy 3rd age and eat clean nutrition for wellness (which helps to design healthy meals using nothing more than natural and wholefoods).
And once you sign up for my Middle Age Warrior Training, I am fully committed to using all of the above to help you achieve your best performance after 40, just like I achieved mine._
l had the best shape of my life when I trained with Tony. The martial arts training in his method is a game changer in exercising for me because it explores other skills that are different from what we find in regular gym training and helps me to relieve stress.
